![]() I love Firelink in this game, although I honestly think I prefer the version in DS3, as well as Roundtable Hold - I just love having what feels like an actual "home base." Undead Burg is also a phenomenal opening area, although I am not sure if I like it as much as High Wall of Lothric or Central Yharnam.Īnyway it's nice to finally experience a classic. Imagine something like an MGS game where Shadow Moses was laid out this way. Every time I've looped back around and realized I was in the Firelink vicinity again was great, in particular coming up out of Blighttown into that little section of the Valley of the Drakes -> New Londo Ruins -> Firelink felt insane. It's definitely a slog sometimes, but it does give the game a sort of fun slower pace that really makes you plot out your next steps and makes the stakes feel high. ![]() The differences between it and the more recent FS titles are interesting, probably the biggest being the lack of fast travel. The fuck is going on here lolĪs for the game as a whole I'm really liking it. Sen's Fortress however is kicking my ass so hard it makes me feel like I skipped something and have just stumbled into the endgame. I am summoning NPCs but whatever, that's how I like to play these games. ![]() Bliighttown is as annoying as everyone says, but the enemies themselves in this game haven't been giving me a ton of issues and I think I've beaten every boss first try so far. So far the game has honestly not felt too crazily hard. I'm level 40-something, quality build with 30 vit / 20 end / 20 str / 20 dex and a +10 Claymore Started over the weekend and just got to Sen's Fortress. ![]()
